Stephen C. Ross

Stephen Ross is co-founder and Senior Managing Director of Ross Forensics. He has been practicing as an expert on cost, quantum and damages issues in dispute and litigation matters for more than 38 years.

He has been retained to advise multinational concerns, Fortune 500 companies, government agencies and major law firms throughout the United States and abroad on a wide variety of significant assignments.

Steve is recognized for his expertise in assisting clients in major disputes and international arbitration. His practice focuses on complex construction disputes, including delay and disruption, prolongation, and contract termination. He has assisted contractors, employers, and design professionals. Prior to forming Ross Forensics, Steve held senior leadership positions and ownership interests in several international consulting firms, including Navigant Consulting, Tucker Alan, Inc., and Peterson Consulting.

Among the construction projects in which Steve has been retained are petrochemical facilities, power plants (nuclear, offshore wind, and coal-fired), subway/rail infrastructure, energy and mining, roads and bridges, airports, and resort hotels with contract values up to USD 26 billion. His work has spanned North America, the United Kingdom, and elsewhere in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, China, Singapore, and the Caribbean. Steve’s clients include international engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors, major heavy civil and tunneling contractors, power companies, airport authorities, universities, chemical manufacturers, biotechnology companies, oil, and gas and natural resource companies, aerospace and defense contractors, and high technology companies.

Steve has provided expert testimony in deposition, trial and arbitration on more than 80 occasions. He has been qualified as an expert in state and federal courts throughout the United States in both bench and jury trials. Steve has also given evidence in international forums including the High Court of Justice – Technology and Construction Court (London); the London Court of International Arbitration; the International Dispute Resolution Centre; the London International Arbitration Centre; and the Singapore International Arbitration Centre. He has extensive experience serving as an expert before arbitration tribunals and has participated in expert “hot-tubbing” and other forms of expert examination. Steve has given evidence on claim values up to USD 1 billion.

Steve has been consistently recognized as a leading quantum expert worldwide by Who's Who Legal / Lexology holding the ranking "Thought Leader - USA" in 2024.

Steve holds a business administration degree with an accounting concentration from the University of Washington and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant. He is also Certified in Financial Forensics and a Chartered Global Management Accountant.

Kristi M. Kurata

Kristi Kurata is co-founder and Managing Director of Ross Forensics. Kristi has been advising clients on cost, quantum and damages issues in dispute and litigation situations for more than 35 years. Kristi’s consulting engagements have spanned a diverse array of industries, including construction, software, telecommunications, retail, manufacturing, financial institutions, hospitality and real estate, among others. Prior to co-founding Ross Forensics, Kristi held senior positions at international consulting firms including MRW Advisory, Navigant Consulting, Tucker Alan, Inc. and Peterson Consulting.

Kristi has consulted with large multinational concerns, Fortune 500 companies, major law firms and government agencies throughout the United States and abroad on a wide variety of assignments. In the United States, Kristi has worked on matters in state and federal courts of various jurisdictions nationwide.

Kristi also has extensive experience assisting clients in major international construction disputes. Among these projects include power plants, subway/rail, airports and resort hotels. Her work has spanned the United Kingdom and elsewhere in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the People’s Republic of China and the Caribbean. Kristi is experienced with many of the enterprise accounting systems used by a number of our large multinational clients. She has particular expertise in applying innovative and cost-effective approaches to extract extremely large data sets from those systems, and is highly adept at efficiently analyzing that data in support of our work.

Kristi has provided expert testimony in deposition and arbitration in the United States and played an integral role in various international arbitrations in the London Court of International Arbitration and the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (London).

Kristi holds a Business Administration degree with a Finance Concentration from the University of Washington.
